Practical OpenTelemetry

The talented Mr. Martin Thwaites gave a talk at NDC Oslo 2024 and I recommend to watch this ca. 1h recording of his talk up on YouTube: in Practical OpenTelemetry in Javascript/Typescript Martin introduces OTel and shows how to use it programmatically. Thank you!

AWS updates

The time leading up to re:Invent is always an exciting one. Lot's of launches and publications on new features. This week I picked two: my colleagues Mike George, Girish B, and Eddie Torres wrote Monitor EBS Detailed Performance Statistics with Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus and Ashok Srirama, George John, Leo Li, and Prateek Gogia wrote about Amazon EKS enhances Kubernetes control plane observability. Both super exciting launches and let us know what you think, please?

Jaeger v2 released

The Jaeger maintainers published Jaeger v2 released: OpenTelemetry in the core! via the CNCF blog, describing how they created a new architecture for Jaeger components that utilizes the OpenTelemetry collector framework. Congrats!

Hilla apps observability

Are you using Hilla, a full-stack web app framework that combines Spring Boot, React, and UI components? If so, I have something for you. Check out the "Observing Hilla apps" series by René Wilby: Part 1 covers the backend, and Part 2 covers the frontend.
